SINGAPORE JUNE 25 2020 / EMURGO Ptd. Ltd. – EMURGO, a global blockchain solutions provider & a founding entity of the Cardano protocol, formally announces the joining of Trace Alliance – a collaborative union connecting technology solutions providers, enterprises, startups, and academia with supply chain professionals to foster blockchain solutions development & integration with supply chain verticals.
With the recent launch of EMURGO Traceability Solution – an enterprise-facing solution built to meet the needs for reliable & cost-efficient product traceability – this announcement serves to drive synergies between EMURGO’s tailored solutions for supply chains and fellow Trace Alliance members, as well as the potential to also broaden adoption of Cardano’s research-driven blockchain.
Trace Alliance is composed of a diverse set of established members of large & medium enterprises, service providers, and research institutions. According to a 2019 blockchain report commissioned by EY that surveyed more than 230 global business executives, three-fourths or 75% reported that their enterprises were either planning to implement tailored blockchain solutions within 24 months or had already done so. [1] The most commonly cited answer to the question of the reasons for implementing blockchain solutions was the “need to preserve data integrity.” The top two answers to the question for blockchain use cases were “data integrity” and “supply chain track-and-trace” with more than half of all respondents giving both of those answers. EMURGO’s inclusion into Trace Alliance offers strategic advantages to tackle these enterprise use cases leveraging blockchain technology.
“As traditional industries increasingly progress towards integrating blockchain solutions, joining Trace Alliance is mutually beneficial for both EMURGO and Alliance members to actively collaborate on ways to further drive blockchain adoption. EMURGO highly looks forward to the continued development of blockchain technology for supply chains and to add value to enterprises via our tailored solutions,” said Ken Kodama, CEO of EMURGO.
“Trace Alliance enables access to the world’s leading experts and forward-thinking companies, working together on global issues to create more efficient and transparent supply chains for the 21st century . We are delighted to see EMURGO join the Trace Alliance and are looking forward to having them work alongside research institutions, software companies, and NGOs to exchange information, experience and expertise in this quickly evolving field. Data integrity in global supply chains is essential for establishing trust and accountability, and it can only be achieved through collaboration,” said Ana Bevc, Secretary General of Trace Alliance.
